Rosewood: Part 1

It took me forever, but I finally finished the first update for my prosperity challenge! It's probably going to be really boring, especially at the end, since I was just trying to get it done at that point; hopefully the next one will be more witty and interesting to read. If you don't remember the six families (which you probably don't, since that post was back in November), read about it here. And for now, enjoy this first update!
The Hart Family
When the game first loads, Kendall and Joshua decide to have a chat together, and Joshua seems to be discussing some... interesting topics with his young, impressionable granddaughter.
After that lovely little conversation, Joshua abandons Kendall and heads to the little study to play a snowboarding computer game instead of bonding with his own flesh and blood. Good role model, Joshua.
But Kendall gets a chance at human interaction when the Garden Club official comes by to introduce himself. Kendall asks him to inspect their garden - I was hoping to get a wishing well, for when Kendall grows up and to help with Joshua's LTW of woohooing twenty different Sims; he gladly agreed to check out the garden.
The welcome group came soon after that - Cornelia Benson, Roger Walker, and an interesting-looking elder named Naenae Ryan (and I didn't make up that name - it's what she's really named!).
Joshua finally leaves his spot at the computer and heads outside to say hello to the youthful-looking Cornelia.
But Joshua also seems to have his eye on another Sim (Naenae Ryan - and I didn't make that name up!) although in his relationships it says he has negative chemistry with her - Sims are weird.
While Joshua is busy trying to figure out who he likes, the Garden Club guy decides he's worthy of membership and gives him some money - they need it badly, since I could barely furnish the house with the needed things, let alone decorations and personal touches.
Joshua decides to ignore his relationship's version of chemistry and starts talking to Naenae. I guess she likes what he's saying, because she offers them a discount - something they desperately need!
Sadly, little Kendall is being ignored, and she has to content herself with some pop instead of having a nice meal for dinner. And she'll probably be scarred after the sight of her neighbor and grandfather in swimming suits.
Kendall: *thinks*Just watch the TV Just watch the TV Just watch the TV*thinks*
She then goes upstairs to sleep in her grandfather's bed, all alone. Aww!
Meanwhile, her grandfather is outside playing with Cornelia. Good date material, Joshua!
After Cornelia leaves, Joshua comes upstairs to get some shut eye; I guess Kendall is mad at her grandpa, because she leaves the bed the second he gets comfortable.
Instead of sleeping, Kendall works on her art skills in her bedroom. Maybe she can earn some money for the family, since her grandfather doesn't seem to be doing that well...
The next day, while Kendall is clearly at school, like a good child, Cornelia calls, asking not to talk to Joshua, who she played soccer with at midnight, but Kendall, who she maybe talked to for an hour while Joshua was busy with Naenae. You're very strange, Cornelia!
Of course, Joshua tells her that Kendall can't come to the phone, failing to state the obvious - Kendall is at school, like Cornelia's own granddaughter.

Of course, Joshua tells her that Kendall can't come to the phone, failing to state the obvious - Kendall is at school, like Cornelia's own granddaughter.

Then Joshua heads outside in his underwear to work on that garden - getting a wishing well would certainly help for Joshua's LTW.

I hope the neighbors don't see Joshua in his underwear; of course, Joshua doesn't seem to care.

When Kendall gets home from school, she's too tired to do anything, even homework, so straight to bed she goes. Poor Kendall - life's tough when you only depend on a guy like Joshua, who's probably still working in his garden while in his underwear.

Kendall dreams about herself - either she's full of herself or having a nightmare that looks like her current life...

Kendall finally gets up early morning. And where does she go?
Does she go to start her homework?

Nope - instead she goes outside in the dark while it's raining and thundering to play soccer by herself. Where is her grandfather while she does this?!

Not that Kendall seems to mind the rain - she's too busy scoring goals!

That is, until she decides to be a brat and complains about being stinky and tired and wet.

So she heads back up to bed, and her grandfather actually exists her presence and tucks her in. Aww!

Of course, while Kendall is at school the next day, Joshua gets to work on his LTW and invites Cornelia over. Well, at least he's not inviting her over while his granddaughter is home...

He heads outside to begin to seduce her. Smooth, Joshua, smooth.

Then they head up to the bedroom.
{1/20}

Aw, somebody is in wuv...
Joshua continues his conflicting thoughts though - he has a want and a fear of getting engaged to Cornelia. Strange Sim...
And that's really all that happened in the Hart family during their first three days. Now time for the Montgomery family...
The Montgomery Family

The first thing I had London do was head over to the local hotel (made by Plasticbox at ModtheSims), to see if she could meet anyone good, since the welcome group was boring.

Then, while I wasn't watching her, London snuck into an unclaimed hotel room and then got stuck in there, unable to leave because it wasn't her hotel room. I tried to get her out, but I ended up leaving without saving and going back to her house.

Back at home, since she didn't know anybody and didn't have anything to do, London started practicing on the grand piano I stuck in her bedroom.

London got the concept of hitting random keys with her pointer fingers down cold. Next stop: Carnegie Hall!

London's old hair seemed to be messed up, so I gave her a bit of a makeover, but this hair doesn't seem to want to work with her hair, but it's fine for now.
Instead of being grateful for her makeover, London decided to ignite her oven. Luckily she had a fire alarm and nothing ended up burned, except her dinner.

Later on, to help comfort her, I made London check out the crystal ball, and one of her matches was this guy - the cute paper boy. She ended up spending hours with him, both equally smitten with each other.

They spent most of their time snuggling together on the couch - aww! Adorable couple.
And that was basically all that happened to London on her first three days on Earth - sort of boring, so I'm hoping her life will get more interesting next time.
The Walker Family

Caitlin immediately goes into her new bedroom to play with the doll house. Maybe she's trying to send a message to her grandpa that she's hungry...

Jenna comes in to join her.

And Jenna joins in on the doll feast!

But then Caitlin and Jenna stop playing to cry about their recently-late mother! I wanted to reach into the computer and comfort them!

Poor Caitlin!

Missy takes advantage of abandoned doll house to start playing.

After settling down from her sadness, Caitlin joins Missy at the doll house. Adorable!

Here comes the welcome committee, who has no one really good for either romance guys in this family.

I had Jon check out the Crystal Ball to see if there are any good matches out there for him, and Mona happened to show up, so I decided to have him go on a date with her!

Aren't they a cute couple?!

But then Jon starts gossiping with Mona... about his little sister?! Jon, what is wrong with you?

What did you say about Missy?! JON?!

Well, despite that little bit of gossip, Mona seemed to like him, because they had their first kiss! It's so adorable, young love. :D

Well, Mona didn't fall in love with him, but this was how she said good bye to him, which is a very good sign!

Meanwhile, Roger is working on his own LTW, trying to have a dream date with this girl.

And the date ended up being a dream date - 1/50!
This is going to take a while... Not sure if Roger is going to manage to get all of these dream dates.

The next day, Jon decided to forge ahead with twenty loves, and Jade Wu showed up in the list of girls, along with Mona still there (only a crush so far).

She came over, and they shook hands like good neighbors.

She left without falling in love, and the rest of the day ended boring. Now it's time for the triplets to grow up!
(Only two cakes fit on the counter, plus only two Sims could hold triplets, so it's two first, then the third).

Here's Jon with Caitlin.

Here comes Roger with Missy - in his underwear. Good influence, Roger.

Here's Caitlin! (Sorry, Jon and the door are in the way)

And here's Missy in the empty dining room (they ran out of money before furnishing it).

And now it's Jenna's turn. And Jon's arm wants to be as far away from the candles as possible...

And here's the last triplet, Jenna, all grown up!

Jon headed to the local H&M to get some clothes for the triplets, since their clothes are far from cool for three growing girls.
While there, this cute girl was the cashier.

And Ashley Hale is there talking to a gypsy-dressed woman.

Jon introduces himself to Ashley - maybe he hopes she'll introduce her daughter to him.

But right now, Jon has his eye on the cute cashier whose name I can't remember...

After he hangs out with the cashier for a while and spends all their money on clothes, Jon comes home to a bouquet of flowers from Roger's dream date. Where's Jon's flowers?!
And that was the first three days of the Walker family - lots of love and birthdays. Onto Jon's girl No.2's family: the Wu family.
The Wu Family

As soon as he can get away, Robert heads to his business, Inter@ctive, where he works on selling as many eletronic games as possible.

This customer didn't seem very interested in buying though - instead he wanted to make weird faces at Robert.

Despite that customer's buying attitude, Roger managed to make it to Rank 1, and used it to become a more perceptive businessman.

When he got home, the welcome committee had finally shown up - Cornelia and Meredith Benson and Henry Hale.

Robert seemed to find Anna very beautiful, although I'm not sure this is smart to do while her husband is just inside the house...

After a little flirting, Anna introduced herself to Meredith.

They got along very well, soon becoming friends. Pehaps they were bonding over a little bit of husband bashing?

But Anna then left to call a certain neighbor...

And Anna began to talk to Henry on the phone in front of her new friend and her daughter. Smooth move, Anna.

She agreed to meet up with Henry at the local hotel.

After a short ride over in the taxi, Anna was happy to be at the hotel.

She was especially happy to be with Henry, as opposed to her husband, Robert, who is at home not even missing her.

Before heading up to their hotel room, they decided to get a little bit of food to eat.
Anna: So, Henry, you just moved here after leaving your wife?
Henry: Um, *chokes* yep, I left my wife. I'm a single man now!
Anna: Good, cuz I wouldn't want to be cheating on my husband with a married man!
Smart Anna - only cheating on one spouse instead of two is so much better. And you dirty rotten liar, Henry! Lies never turn out well...

Her conscience feeling fine, Anna and Henry head upstairs to their hotel room.

After they're done, the maid comes in.

But instead of waiting for the two to actually leave the room like most sane maids would do, the maid merely comes in when they're done with the bed, not the room. I can see the maid was hired for her cleaning skills, not her brains.

Outside, Roger is busy trying to romance this lovely blonde. Everyone seems to be at the hotel at some point during this update!

Before changing into her clothes, Anna goes downstairs to check out in her underwear.
Maid: Does this mean that hot guy is alone in his underwear upstairs?
Forget about it, Miss Maid.

Back at home, Jade is on the phone with Jon Walker, while her father hovers behind her.
You know, Roger, I don't think it's Jade you should worry about keeping a short leash on...

Roger then decides to take over Jade's computer, something that does not make Jade happy at all.
Jade: Dad, why don't you go back to keeping an eye on your wife instead of playing SSX3?
See, even Jade notices your wife not being faithful!
Roger: *ignores*

The next morning, Anna manages to intercept a rose left by Henry before her husband sees it - not that it seems he'll even notice it...

Anna then heads back inside to try and prove to her husband that she's still a faithful wife, despite the rose she hid.

Outside, an adult who's trying to hold onto her rebellious youth walks by - I just wanted to show her, not part of the story at all. :D
Back inside, Roger and Anna are cuddling on the couch in their underwear. Where does this look familar?
Before I was done playing with the Wu family, Anna and Roger decided to make the next update even more interesting: they weren't just cuddling, and now Anna's pregnant!
And with that fun little news, we go onto Anna's boyfriend's family, the Hale family.
The Hale Family
The Hales start their life with Sean getting his first date, with the woman who was walking by the Wu house.
1/50
She seems to live him enough, because she offered him a job. He accepted of course, since they really need some money after decorating their house...
After school, Ella also started on her 50 first dates.
1/50
Despite his lack of fashion sense, Ella liked him enough to give him her first kiss! (Oops, I took that picture are the wrong time... Don't worry, they aren't really half-red)
For some reason, Ashley and Sean decide lounging on Ella's bed would be a good place to have a heart-to-heart... Strange family, but they make life interesting...
Sean: Hey, sis, have you noticed anything strange about your husband?
Ashley: What, you mean since you moved in with us?
Sean: Well, I didn't really think about it before, so yeah, since I moved in here with you guys.
Ashley: What's so strange about him?
Sean: Well, I hate to even think this, but do you think he may be...
Ashley: What?
Sean: Well, he may be having you and getting 'dessert' somewhere else.
Ashley: Sean! How could you even say such a thing! Henry and I take marriage very seriously - there's no way he would try to ruin such a special bond!
Ashley: Who could he meet that means more to him than me?
Sean: I'm sorry, Ashley, for bringing this up. But please remember what I've said...
Ashley: I'll remember, but it'll never come true!

Sean: *sighs* Of course not, Ash, of course not.
After their conversation, Sean headed downstairs, where he ran into Mike and this girl who came home with him.
GWCHWM (Girl Who Came Home With Mike): Mike tells me that you're like a magician when it comes to love!
Sean: *laughs* I'm not a magician, I just happen to know a lot about romance.
Mike: Oh, he's just being modest - he knows everything about getting girls!
Mike: I mean, he's given me tons of advice and he just moved in a couple of days ago! It's amazing, really.
GWCHWM: He should get a job as a Love Doctor!
Sean: *thinks about how stupid teenagers seem to be now*
Ella seems to have taken his advice to heart, though, because she's using it to snag this girl. In addition to experimenting with makeup and clothes, Ella also seems to be experimenting with girls...
But then a thunderstorm ignites the tree in the front yard; luckily the rain put it out.
And with that ends the Hale family's part of the update - maybe next time it'll be more interesting and Henry will meet up with his girlfriend, Anna, and maybe Ashley will figure something out...
The Benson Family
Meredith spent most of her first day baking so that she would have stuff for her home bakery - I guess all the baking got to her and she burnt a pie. Great job, Meredith.
After a fireman saved the day and Meredith finished baking, she opened up shop and customers came pouring in. Good - we need the money, badly.
Meredith later closed up shop and went to the cooking hobby lot, where she saw Mona - who is at school right now! What do you do in school, Mona?
And Cornelia is at the lot, too. Wait a minute, you were watching Toby at home! Who's watching Toby?!

Cornelia: *no answer*
Ignoring her strange family, Meredith joins the cooking competition with one of her yummy pies.
Meredith looks worried - don't worry, honey, your cooking is lovely!
Everyone else looks worried, too...
Look at that delicious pie! How could it not be a winner?!
Who will win? It better be Meredith - why would soup and lobster win?!
WHAT?! The lobster won, not Meredith's fabulous pie?! Grr, stupid Maxis - we really needed the money!
Uh oh, it looks like losing the competition might have been one of her fears - I didn't notice that.
Well, first aspiration failure of the challenge!

Here's the doctor to save the day!
Meredith: *sings obnoxiously*
Dr. Aspiration Failure: My ears, my beautiful ears!
Meredith: Hey, I'm cured!
Thank you, Dr. Aspiration Failure - you've saved our ears and own personal sanity!
And it's now back to the Benson homestead, where it's birthday time!

It's time for little Toby to grow up!
And no one seems to care. Way to be supportive, family!
Amazingly, Toby grew up well, even though everyone has neglected him.
Cornelia: Hey, look, there's a kid standing where my grandson was! Maybe we got rid of the old whining toddler! Hooray!
Good job being a loving grandmother, Cornelia.
Well, that's it for this update - that took way too long. Hopefully the next update will be sooner, and more interesting.
