Sunset Bay: Meet the Settlers

If you've been following me on my new Simblr, you should know that I was one of the many people who downloaded the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection earlier this summer. Even though I saved all of my neighborhoods and such, I couldn't figure out how to put them in my new game, so I took it as a sign that I should (partially) start all over. I had all of my old custom content, so it wasn't like I was starting over completely, but I was happy with the fresh start. Now, you might be worried that that means that all of the various projects and challenges I've started over the years are done, but that's not actually the case with my most important challenges. I've already recreated the Dasanis and 100 Baby Challenge family to the best of my abilities, so I will finish both of those challenges, no matter how long it takes! I don't know if I'm going to recreate any others yet, but never say never.
I wanted to expand my fresh start to my BACC challenge, though, so I didn't attempt to recreate Woodhaven - instead, we now have Sunset Bay, a little-more-relaxed Build a City Challenge! It's time to meet the first residents and see some scenery of the new city.

Sunset Bay - a small little haven of land that was recently discovered after many Sims fled the big cities after the UC Disaster of 2014.

A small little island surrounded by even smaller, uninhabitable islands and clear blue seas, Sunset Bay is the perfect spot for disillusioned Sims to settle down and create their own, perfect world outside of the bustle of places like Sim City.

There are coastlines where you can build cute little beach cottages, fertile areas of land where you can start a flourishing little farm, and everything else in between. There are some roads connecting everything and everyone, but most of the island is still untouched.

Another nearby island is ready and waiting to be populated as well, but the early years of a settlement are the perfect time to live in a small, consolidated area before you begin exploring the rest of your new home.

Even though the island is isolated, the mayor has already set up some ties with nearby suppliers who can bring in furniture and new food if the farm and ponds fail in the first few months.

Even though you and your neighbors may be clearing the land to fit in your new homes, there is still plenty of lush nature surrounding you to make it clear that you're no longer in Sim City.

Welcome to your new home - we hope you enjoy yourself here and don't run our beautiful island into the ground.
And now to meet the settlers who are trying to make a flourishing new home!

Notes
- the terrain I used came with the game (although it might have come with one of the expansion packs, I'm not quite sure) and is called Moon Islands or something similar.
- Unlike the last BACC, I'm not following rules quite as much. I'm not going to worry about taxes and electricity and such - I'm going to try and not use any services or buy groceries outside of what my Sims catch or grow on their own (and hopefully the farming household, the Davis-Lynches, will open a grocery store), but I'm not going to worry if my Sims already have a toilet. The main reason my houses don't really have any bathtubs or lights yet is because my Sims are all poor after building their houses.
- Graham Thatcher was going to be a vampire since so many of my Sims ended up having vampirism as a turn-on (I have no idea why), but it turned his skin pale and I wanted more diversity in my settlers, so I decided to go without any supernatural Sims at this time. Well, I guess Britta Perry is an alien (but all that means is she has different colored skin) and Trinity Royal has alien eyes and thus is probably half alien and human, but otherwise there are no supernatural Sims in Sunset Bay right now - maybe in the future!
- and I think that's all - hopefully I'll have the first update soon, but right now I haven't played any of the families, so it definitely won't be later today!.
