The Perry Family II: Week Two

This is actually Joel's first update, technically. He was in the first Perry week, but after Britta broke up with him, he moved out and is now on his own. He moved into a duplex across town, in the just-starting business area, and he hopes to quickly move on after the drama of his first marriage. He's going to try and get joint custody of his daughter, but he'll have to be on his best behavior first. He also showed up in the Perry I update, where he fathered another child with Britta, another blue daughter named Giselle. We'll have to see about getting her over to his new home in future updates as well, but right now she's still a baby and that just won't work.

This is the first thing I noticed when I went into Joel's lot. Listen, I know that you two kind of rekindled things, but I don't think you two work as a couple anymore. Sorry!

He quickly got over that, though, when he met his neighbor, Jules Greer. She was blonde, both otherwise she wasn't really like his ex-wife at all, from her colorful ensemble and hairstyle to her more vibrant personality.

When Jules has to leave, he's stuck entertaining himself via the internet, like most do.

But he just couldn't stay away from Jules for long.

See?

Seriously, dude? Leave poor Delaina alone!

After plenty of bonding, Joel already convinced Jules to move in with him, since it's such a long commute to the duplex next door.
BTW, Jules's personality traits are: Natural Cook // Black Thumb // Childish // Natural Born Performer // Colorful

Joel may already have two children, but he's obviously ready to start filling his current house with children as well.

Speaking of children, this is the empty bedroom that's just waiting for Remy to come over and live with her dad on the weekends. Jules is taking advantage of the fact that Remy isn't here right now.

It won't be just Jules and Joel during the week for long, though...

Jules: I think we should get a soccer ball.
Joel: For what?
Jules: For our future child to play with, of course!
Joel: Oh, that sounds like a good reas - wait a minute, what?!
Jules is great at revealing big news.

Joel didn't want his future child to be without his name (plus I don't want any new last names yet), so he decided to pop the question!

As you can just barely see, Jules was apparently hiding her dislike of engagements fairly well.
Why don't you want to get engaged?! Other than the romance or pleasure aspiration that I think you might have...

Oh well, too bad - I now pronounce you Joel and Jules Perry!

Since neither Sim has a job, Jules is trying to earn a little cash by writing restaurant guides online. Not very lucrative, but it's a start.

As her due date approaches, Jules does her best to prepare for motherhood.

Apparently that means eating children's cereal, unless most adult cereal brands have aliens and spaceships on their boxes.

Joel does his best to stay in his daughter's life even when she's staying at her mother's. This divorce really helped make Joel into a much better guy.

He'll have another child to worry about now, though!

Um, just so you know - IT LIES!

You only get one picture, because they all look alike - blond hair, S2 skintone, and blue eyes. And just how many babies are there, you might be asking?

*heads desk*

Their apartment technically has three bedrooms, but I was using the third bedroom as a kind of family room, so I just crammed all these baby swings and a changing table into the room. I spent way too long decorating Remy's room to change it rightnow, so the babies are stuck with this for now.

And of course Remy then showed up, because the house wasn't crammed enough as is...

Even though she's at her father's house, Remy lets her artistic trait - inherited from her mother - shine through.

And she loves her new bedroom, which is a nice step up from sharing the nursery with her younger siblings back home.

Father-daughter bonding! They are just so adorable together - glad to see that Remy doesn't hold anything against her parents.

Seriously, are you trying to scar poor Remy? First she saw her mother and father in bed together at her other house, now she has to see her new stepmother naked in bed. This child is going to need some help soon.

I like to imagine that this is the call we saw Britta taking in the other update - they miss each other!

The quads grew up! I didn't bother with the names and traits earlier, so you get them now:
This is Hugh - colorful (Jules) // adventurous (Joel) // schmoozer

Here's Camille - natural born performer (Jules) // bossy (Joel) // optimist

Andre - childish (Jules) // supernatural fan (Joel) // generous

And finally, Ashlyn - natural cook (Jules) // self-absorbed (Joel) // minimalist
As you can see, they all pretty much look the same, but they're all adorable, so I guess I can forgive them a bit...

I replaced the baby swings with pet beds so that I didn't have to worry about getting them to bed and such.
I'm sorry - there are a lot of toddlers to deal with!

And with that, we end this very filling week for the second Perry family. Remy will be going back to her mother's next week, but we'll see her again during the weekend of Joel and Jules's update!
Next up, we have the final update of week two - the Royal-Thatcher family, which is also quite full with three toddlers to deal with!
- Joel's traits are: Brooding // Supernatural Fan // Self-Absorbed // Bossy // Adventurous
- Since Jules's LTW is to reach the top of the slacker career and I'm not using Maxis careers other than the mayor, I'm going to have Jules buy a coffee shop next week. I already built it, and it's appropriately colorful, so she'll probably just take out a loan and start running it. I plan on having her hire Trinity Royal for sure, and maybe some teenagers, once we get them.
- Since things are so cramped in the apartment right now, I'm considering moving the Perrys next week, although I'm still trying to decorate and get them placed in the apartment. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
