The Taylor Family: Week One

saveourpeepsA little more than a month later, it's finally time for the first update in the Sunset Bay BACC! Sorry this took so long - school and sickness and such took over my time for a while, but I finally edited the pictures and am ready to write the first update! Check out the introductory post if you don't quite remember everyone I did.
We begin with our lovely founder, Delaina Taylor. She's a Romance Sim who wants to have 20 lovers at once, which won't be easy in a new BACC, but we'll see if I feel like being generous and bringing in lots of townies. Anyway, I had some pictures of her house, but I think I deleted most of them for some unknown reason, so if you want to see the outside, you can check out my introductory post on Tumblr here!
Anyway, moving on. Since it's the beginning of this challenge, I brought everyone else over to get to know each other. Newlyweds Joel and Britta Perry took that as a sign to show off their great love of each other, and I suppose Delaina looked on in jealously. Don't worry, you'll find someone soon!
And after less than an hour of this fun little get-together, we have our first problem: Jesse Davis and Delaina do not seem to get along. I didn't see who did what first, but things went downhill kind of fast, so I decided to step in and get Delaina to talk to just about anyone else, for my own sanity as well as the harmony of this budding new town.
Unfortunately, Joel and Delaina didn't seem to be getting on too well either. What is with everyone? Can't people just get along?!
Childhood friends and new housemates Trinity Royal and Graham Thatcher seem to be getting along, at least. And in the background, Delaina actually seems to be happy with her conversation with Vanessa Davis, so at least her problem isn't with the Davises in general, it's just Jesse (who I see lurking in the background, luckily not causing more problems).
Hmm, Delaina and Joel seem to be getting on better, with Britta smiling her approval as she watches her husband and neighbor bonding.
Hey! You, sir, are married! More importantly, you are happily married, remember?! Just because I'm happy that you aren't fighting with Delaina anymore does not mean that you get to go after the other women in this town!
And you should definitely pay attention to your wife when she's sobbing!
But seriously, what happened now?! I've never had so much trouble with a BACC from the beginning - normally the first get-together is all about figuring out who you have chemistry with and such, not figuring out who your biggest nemesis is going to be!
I popped over to Britta for a second to see just what was wrong - why am I not surprised? Jesse, stop being so awful to everyone! Especially Britta, who I have yet to see being mean to anyone!
Moving on to better things, I had Delaina scope the room (well, the yard, but that's not what the command is, so who cares about exacts?) and Trinity was the top person who popped up for her. I guess Joel isn't the only one whose eye was caught by this redhead...
In order to get Delaina away from arguments with anyone else, I quickly sent her over to Trinity and had them start getting to know each other, which they were both quite happy to do.
Delaina: You know, I've got a double bed upstairswhich is the only furniture upstairs because I'm too poor to buy anything else, even wallpaper
Trinity: *swoon*
Unfortunately, we interrupt this beautiful courtship to see that Jesse is at it again. Dude, stop being mean to people! Poor Graham - and you're too busy whistling at his own best friend to even feel sorry!
Also, in unrelated news, is Trinity just everyone's type? Other than the straight girls, I mean (and I can't even remember how many of those there are - I think only one or two, because bi is just so much easier for opening up my options).
Okay... I think it's time to just go ahead and send Jesse homewhere he hopefully can't hurt anyone...
I guess Trinity wasn't impressed enough by Delaina's wallpaper-less bedroom, so Delaina simply moved on to her housemate. She better not come between the two, even if she's pretty darn adorable with both of them...
*sigh* OK, I think it's time to send everyone home.
As Delaina goes to sleep after a long first day, I checked out her relationships with everyone. She has chemistry with half the group, even Jesse (btw, why is Joel her enemy and Jesse isn't?!), and has positive relationships with the majority of them (again, why Jesse and Joel? why do you want to cause problems?!), so I consider that a win.
Hmm, I guess I didn't actually send off everyone, so they all come upstairs to creepily stare at Delaina before walking off to their respective homes. Not weird at all.
But, for some good news: Delaina got promoted! She, of course, is in the politics career, and since I'm too lazy to download all that stuff that keeps her from getting promoted until she has the proper friendships or whatever, she'll continue to work at getting more promotions.
I can't remember if I already mentioned this, but I'm doing a very relaxed BACC. People will get electricity when they can afford it (which might take a while since everyone has pretty, expensive houses and not much money left for furniture, like Delaina) and the same with businesses - if they can afford the lot and the building, then they can be business owners! Besides, if half the people are going to hate each other, I think I have enough problems without worrying about whether I've done enough to get townies or whatever.
And just who has come to visit Delaina?
Also, I feel like I accidentally deleted some pictures or something - how else did we get from happy promotions to woohooing?
It's Trinity! And apparently their date has been going so well that she'd like to get engaged to Delaina! Of course, she also has both a fear of being rejected for engagement and a fear of both getting engaged and married. No, she's not sending mixed signals at all.
Delaina isn't much better. Here's her want to get engaged...

Wait a second, didn't Delaina have two bolts with Graham earlier? How did it go down to one? You haven't even seen him since Monday - how can you be less attracted to him already?!
I feel like this update has made me do a lot of question mark-exclamation mark combos - is that good or bad?
Aw, someone had a good time on her Dream Date!
Moremoney prestige! Yeah, that's why Delaina has a job, for the good public image...

Wait, are they playing baseball and not actually attacking each other?
*sigh* I had such high hopes.Except not really
So, to turn down the drama, Delaina turns to skilling in order to get more promotions. I approve!
But we interrupt the skilling to reveal the first baby bump of the challenge! Looks like Trinity is going to get a little surprise in a few days...
Wow. It's all about the good public image, right?
I happened to look at the description for this promotion and saw that it says "You need to cultivate your 'image'." *snort* Yeah, I think she needs to work on that a bit, don't you?
Delaina: Hey, I'm pregnant and this is comfortable!
Just go inside and get dressed, sweetie.
I guess the fact that he was down to one bolt wasn't enough to stop Delaina from trying her hand at achieving her LTW. Hello there, Graham - do you have something to tell your housemate when you get home?
Of course, Delaina's outfit doesn't seem to have a pregnancy morph, so she looks just as thin, but whatever, we all know she's pregnant anyway!
And then nothing else interesting happened so it's time for a baby!
Delaina: Why did I have to have a LTW that involves woohooing? Why couldn't I want lots of puppies and kittens? Then they'd be the ones going through all this bloody pain!
I dunno, but I don't care because - cute baby time!
Aw, look at him! Meet Leo Taylor, the son of Delaina and Trinity Royal. Leo got Trinity's eyes and skin color and Delaina's hair color. Yay for genetic diversity!
And then because nothing else interesting apparently happened, we end the week with little Leo's birthday! He is so adorable! He definitely took after Trinity, so there's no denying who his other mother is!
And with that, we come to the end of Delaina's first week as the Sunset Bay BACC founder! Some drama and some changes happened, that's for sure. Hopefully I'll have the next update soon (which'll be Jesse's household! We'll have to see if he's as mean when he's home)!
