The Porter Family: Week Two

It's been a long time since the last update - I was going to update a few weeks ago but LJ was being weird so I put it off until now. Hopefully this will work, because I really don't want to have to do this again or continue putting it off.
Anyway, we begin this update with a picture of domestic bliss - Violet is working on making more clothes for the family, while Jackson reads to the matching twins, Arthur and Derek. The perfect picture of a perfect family.

Alas, the picture was soon ruined by this - a queasy stomach. If you recall (you probably won't - it was a long time ago, I think during the Longshore-Thatcher update), Violet also had a queasy stomach, even though I'm pretty sure I never had them try for another baby. The house has two bedrooms - perfect for the parents and the twins, but a little cramped for five - or more, if the twin trend continues. Oh well, we'll just have to hope for the best: one child who doesn't mind sharing a room.

Violet is now looking for a job in the Education career since her sons will soon be going to the elementary school, the first children of the neighborhood to do so, which unlocks this career track. It's a little early but I figured it'd be better to be prepared.

The twins' birthday isn't the only thing coming soon - Violet is already showing signs of the new life to come.

First up is Arthur (I think - it's been a long time since I played this and I can't actually remember which is which, but I think this is Arthur...)

Poor Derek, meanwhile, had to age up alone while everyone else went off to do things. (I can already tell he's in the running for 'neglected middle child'...)

Derek's birthday was upstaged by something important, though - the birth of the last (hopefully!) Porter child.

Violet actually managed to give birth to a girl, Brooke Porter, who has the same genetics as her older brothers and father.

One of the boys brought home their neighbor, Liam Royal, from their first day of school. (Technically he grew up into a children before the twins since his family's week happened before I played the Porter family, but he's younger than the twins by four days...)

Jackson is doing his best to teach his sons everything he knows, both academically and hobby-related. Arthur and Derek are eager to do whatever their father does, still at that age where he's their hero and can do no wrong, even if he rubs it in their faces when he catches bigger fish...

After a long search, Violet finally managed to find an open spot in the Education career, finally giving her the chance to get out of the house. (Wooh, first partially unlocked job of the neighborhood, excluding the founder's career!)

Time passed quickly in the Porter household and it was soon time for Brooke to grow up in a curious little toddler. (I cheated a little here - if you remember, Brooke has blonde hair just like her dad and brothers, but I wanted to have another redhead, so I stuck red hair on her anyway)

And so the week ended with a little mental scarring for young Arthur...

After this will be a wrap-up for all the families during Week Two, and then it's time for Week Three! I'm not sure how soon I'll have another update, but I'll certainly try for the next week or so. I haven't finished playing the Bentley family for that week yet, so I'll have to do that first, but once I'm done I'll try to have it up as soon as possible...
