The Longshore-Thatcher Family: Week Two

And so we return to the Longshore-Thatcher home, which has an empty bedroom now that Alanna has moved in with and married the founder, Clayton Bentley. That leaves her brother, Cory, and friend, Lance, to bond together - and to fight over their shared love of Mariella Royal, their neighbor. Lance seems to have fallen in even more love with Mariella than before, hoping to pop the question sometime, although I'm going to wait and see who Mariella likes more before deciding...

Violet Porter, while visiting the two friends, suddenly feels sick to her stomach and wonders if it's more than a simple queasy stomach. (I don't remember any baby chimes back at the Porter household! The twins is perfectly enough!)

(I don't remember why this happened...)
Rather than fighting with each other, Lance and Cory, Lance in particular, seem to have problems with their neighbors.

It wasn't all troubles for the boys, though - Lance was getting much better at catching fish to fill their fridge with.

A mysterious gypsy even shows up, hearing tales about the men's great skilling abilities...

Before sneaking away again, she left a dusty old lamp in a burst of red smoke.

Jackson Porter stopped by early in the week, leaving his wife to watch the twins.
Lance: So, how are the twins?
Jackson: It's so hard to take care of two toddlers at once, but at least I have Violet. Poor Mariella is all alone.
Lance: Wait, Mariella had a baby?
Jackson: Yeah, she had a baby boy just recently. Haven't you seen her lately?
Lance: No, it's been about three or four days... I wonder who the father is...

Lance didn't have to wait much longer to see Mariella, though...
(Now I get to see some drama!)

Lance didn't waste any time greeting her.

Mariella soon left to find Cody, though, although Lance still remained on her mind. Mariella was obviously conflicted over who to choose.

Very conflicted indeed...
(Although, according to ACR, she likes Cory better. Too bad, I like her with Lance better because I always pictured Cory growing old and amassing a great fortune which would net him a young wife... Yes, Cory seemed like a bit of a creepy guy in my mind, before I started playing with him)

Alanna stopped by later to visit her old housemates and to ease up the non-existant tension (seriously, where was my drama?! I was hoping to see some enemies, if only to open up the Law career)

Seeing his sister and his girlfriend didn't help Cory's nearly-empty aspiration bar, though, and when he attempted to kill the roaches that had sprung up in his yard, he was pushed over the edge. Again. Two visits from the crazy doctor in two weeks couldn't be a good sign for the wannabe millionaire...

Cory was able to bounce back fairly quickly, though, mostly with the help of Mariella.

Cory's life continued to be a rollercoaster, though, and he soon got sick from the dreaded roaches.
(I'm tweaking the rules slightly for this BACC - rather than having a sick Sim pass on the sickness to two other Sims, once three individual Sims have been sick, I'll have Medical unlocked)

Once he got better, though, Cory was happy to see Clayton, his brother-in-law and the man he needs to become best friends with in order to unlock electricity. Since he was close to maxing out the mechanical skillpoints, he knew he needed to get a move on his relationship with Clayton.

Lance was having an interesting week as well - he became overheated while fishing at night, a feat that didn't seem possible.

Just like he had guessed, Cory soon maxed out mechanical, which meant he was one step closer to being able to turn on a light in order to read.

Rather than waiting for Clayton to stop by, though, he decided to check out what was going on in the Bentley household, which obviously was a mistake.
(He lives right next door, not across the street, Cory)

So much for becoming best friends. The town will just have to depend on the other two Tinkering Sims to bring electricity, or Cory will have to work much harder.
Clayton does not seem to like his neighbors. That's not a very good trait in a man hoping to become mayor.
That's it for the Longshore-Thatcher family this week. Next up is the Royal family, where Liam Royal grows up and Mariella's life changes drastically (courtesy of her making an important decision)...
